The community of Alberta, Canada is mourning the death of Brett Wildman, a widely respected cattleman, judge, industry leader, and family man who passed away on June 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy deeply woven into Canadian agriculture and livestock circles.
Born on November 20, 1967, Brett Gregory Wildman built a life defined by cattle, hard work, and quiet excellence. Raised in ranching country and later rooted in Sangudo, he became one of Canada’s most admired Red Angus breeders and evaluators, judging major shows across North America, including Agribition, Farmfair, Toronto, and Denver. He also served as Past President of the Canadian Angus Association, following a family tradition of leadership in the breed.
But Brett’s legacy reached far beyond championship banners and boardrooms. He was known as a problem-solver, a mentor, a trusted friend, and a man who could build, fix, lead, and help without ever asking for praise. Alongside his wife Traci, he built Wildman Livestock into one of the country’s most respected Red Angus programs, while also working in northern ice-road logistics and supporting countless people in the cattle community.
Brett Wildman is survived by his wife Traci, daughter Paige, parents David and Gail Wildman, brother Kirk, and a large circle of extended family, friends, and fellow cattle producers. He will be remembered not only for what he achieved, but for the kind of man he was, dependable, generous, deeply skilled, and impossible to forget.
