The community of Connersville, Indiana is mourning the death of Shannon Lee Nunn-Burroughs, who passed away on Thursday evening, July 2, 2026, at the age of 51, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 8, 1974, in Rushville, Indiana, Shannon was remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter whose compassion and warmth touched countless lives.
Shannon attended Crosspoint Biker Church and built a life centered on family, service, and encouragement. Before her health declined, she worked as manager at Jack’s Donuts in Connersville and previously spent several years at Valeo in Greensburg. She was also studying to become a Recovery Coach, reflecting her deep commitment to supporting people in recovery and advocating for those trying to rebuild their lives.
She loved the outdoors, whether fishing, camping, or sitting by the ocean, and found joy in music, concerts, and time with loved ones. Above all, Shannon treasured her children and grandchildren, who remained the brightest part of her life. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, longtime companion Larry Waters Sr., siblings, stepchildren, and extended family, all of whom now carry forward her memory and love.
Friends and family may gather Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Urban Winkler Funeral Home in Connersville. Funeral services will be held there on Wednesday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Dale Cemetery.
