The community of Aiken, South Carolina, is mourning the disappearance of Javeayah Harris, a 4-year-old girl who has been missing since the evening of Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Javeayah was last seen at her family home near Hillsboro Street and Ridgecrest Road in Aiken County at around 8:15 p.m., wearing Minnie Mouse pajamas, pink beads in her braided hair, and possibly Crocs. Authorities have described her as smart, talkative, and friendly, and say she may be able to fit into small spaces.
Search efforts have expanded into one of the area’s largest active missing-child responses, with nearly 200 law enforcement officers and first responders taking part. The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and several neighboring agencies have searched more than 3,000 acres using helicopters, drones, K-9s, and ground teams while also canvassing homes and reviewing possible surveillance footage. Sheriff Marty Sawyer said investigators are working around the clock and are urging residents to check sheds, vehicles, crawl spaces, wooded areas, and anywhere a small child could hide.
Although the case has drawn intense public attention, officials said it does not currently meet the criteria for an AMBER Alert. Even so, the investigation remains active and urgent, with authorities emphasizing that every lead is being followed. Javeayah’s disappearance has shaken Aiken County, not just because of her age, but because of the uncertainty and fear that come with a child vanishing from home.
Anyone with information about Javeayah Harris is being urged to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office tip line at (803) 502-5200 or call 911 immediately. For now, her case remains an active missing-child investigation, with her family and community waiting for the update nobody should have to beg for.
